New development to attract business

MIDRAND - A new development promises to attract more business to Midrand.

This comes at at time when according to Al Karaki of the Midrand Business Networking Sessions, “business is booming in Midrand”.

The development, New Road Corner is 5 000m2 of office space on Matuka Close in Erand Gardens. The developers are the Halamandaris Group.

According to senior management assistant of the group, Sashnee Naidoo the development took 13 months to complete and she said it was a “technologically advanced and an energy efficient building”.

Karaki believed such buildings encouraged business in the Midrand node. “Midrand is one of the top ‘green’ areas in Gauteng, as we have seen a surge in eco-friendly buildings with a lot of solar conversions due to rising electricity costs and possible load-shedding schedules.

“Midrand is also home to the busiest highway in Southern Africa, which is the Pretoria-Joburg freeway, and we have the largest free-flow intersection in Africa, the Allandale exchange,” said Karaki.

He also made reference to the Midrand Gautrain station. “Many of South Africa’s corporates are mapping where most of their staff are coming from and building accordingly, with access to a major route as the major consideration,” said Karaki.

Naidoo added that the development was is in close proximity to the Gautrain (3.7km) and the Gautrain bus route. “It is close to shopping centres and within walking distances. The access to the highway is 1km,” she said.
