Tow truck driver draws gun and damages vehicle

PRESIDENT PARK - A man (31) was arrested after he pointed a firearm at a man in President Park on Modderfontein Road.

Midrand police communications officer, Constable Matome Tlamela said, “According to the complainant, he was driving his security company marked vehicle along Modderfontein Road when he saw a green tow truck driving in the lane of the oncoming traffic. The complainant pulled his vehicle off the road and he decided to follow the vehicle until Modderfontein road, President Park.

Suddenly the tow truck driver stopped and pulled out his firearm pointing it at the complainant. The driver then took out a knife and damaged the bonnet of the complainant’s company vehicle.

“The suspect also damaged the windscreen of the security company vehicle. The total value of the damages is estimated to be R6 000,” said Tlamela.

She said the suspect was arrested by Midrand police.
