Metro police bag guns and ammunition

RABIE RIDGE - Metro police and Rabie Ridge police are looking for two suspects who were found in possession of firearms and ammunition in Kanana on 5 July.

Rabie Ridge police spokesperson, Constable Jacob Nhlongo said the suspects were driving a black Toyota Yaris without a registration number, which they abandoned during the police chase. “Both suspects got out of the vehicle and ran away from police who were chasing them,” said Nhlongo. “One of the men was carrying a bag and dropped it when it slowed him down.”

He said police found seven guns and 145 bullets inside the bag. While police chased the suspect carrying the bag, the other one is suspected to have returned to the abandoned vehicle and driven off in it.
