Midrand police’s Constable Lletsoalo Rophny, Sergeant Benji Nnkatingi and Sergeant Molema Nametso received a call from an informer alerting them that there were criminal activities taking place at a complex in Halfway Gardens.
Midrand police communications officer, Constable Matome Tlamela said the police went to the scene and found four suspects.
She said the police searched the house and found the following items: silver on a balance scale, measuring equipment, a calculator, a black wallet with bank cards, cellphones and small pieces of gold wrapped in plastic and R200 000.
“All suspects were immediately arrested for dealing in gold and their items were booked in an exhibit book at Midrand Police Station,” said Tlamela.
