A five minute robbery in Barbeque Downs

BARBEQUE DOWNS - A Barbeque Downs resident's car was broken into on 21 August.

Midrand police communications officer, Constable Matome Tlamela said according to the victim he parked his car at a garage on Dytchley Road at about 8am. He locked his car and closed all the windows. Five minutes later the victim returned and noticed his car has been broken into.

Tlamela said the victim was unaware that his briefcase was stolen and drove off. When he arrived at work he realised that his briefcase was missing.

She said the victim notified the police that his briefcase contained valuables worth R20 000, including a Montblack folder,a Montblack pen and pencil, and a financial calculator.

The suspect was not seen breaking into the car and no forced entry was visible. An investigation and case has been opened.
