Arbour Day at Halfway House Primary School

MIDWAYS MEWS - Middway Mews shopping centre planted trees at Halfway House Primary School in Midrand for Arbour Day.

The centre’s marketing co-ordinator Lizelle Botha said, “It is with great pleasure that we decided to donate and plant trees at the school.”

She said the aim of the centre’s Arbour project was to create awareness about environmental issues and to encourage businesses, schools and families to plant trees in their own gardens.

“By doing so we instil the foundation of greener thinking in the community,” she said.

Principal of the school Silas Pillay said they appreciated the centre’s involvment. “A special assembly was arranged to enable learners to be made aware of the importance of Arbour Day,” he said.

The centre would like to thank all the sponsors and community members who took part in the project.
