Ivory Park police spokesperson Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said the incident took place on 21 September. “It is alleged that the complainant was coming back from watching soccer with two male friends when six men approached them,” said Sekgobela.
“Two of the six men held back her male friends while some of the suspects dragged her away. It is alleged that five of the suspects took turns to rape her.”
Police are appealing to the Ivory Park and greater Midrand community for information that may lead to the arrest of these suspects.
Sekgobela added that women should avoid walking around at night, especially in places that are deserted.
