MIDRAND - Midrand Police Station commander Colonel Steven Moodley and the station's management have commended Sergeant Paul Lekganyane for solving a murder and robbery case in 2008.

The three suspects involved received prison sentences ranging from 15 years to life imprisonment.

The men were accused of shooting and killing a homeowner at the entrance of his complex on 1 September of that year. The men then entered his home in Kyalami Hills Estate, on Robin Drive in Vorna Valley and stole items.

The victim had returned from OR Tambo airport when he was shot.

All three perpetrators were arrested. Two of the men were sentenced to life imprisonment and the third was sentenced to 25 years direct imprisonment for murder and 15 years for robbery with aggravated circumstances.
