Women desperately needs stolen qualification certificates

NOORDWYK - A woman from Noordwyk was robbed of her ID, matric certificate and degree certificate just after she disembarked from a Gautrain bus.

Tumelo Sadiki was on her way home when she got off the last bus on 6th road at about 8.30pm on 16 October.

“I was robbed just near a creche called Robin’s Nest,” she said.

Sadiki said a man pulled a knife on her and took her bag. The bag contained her wallet, matric certificate, degree certificate, ID and her driver’s license.

Although Sadiki cannot recall his face, she said he wore a cap, grey shirt and blue jeans. According to her, he is tall and skinny and possibly wears a size 30.

She said she is not the only one who had been victimised by robbers in the Noordwyk area after disembarking from Gautrain buses.

“People who live around my area, even security guards at the complexes have complained,” she said.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Paul Lekganyane said he was investigating the matter. He also mentioned that there had been about three similar incidents that he was aware of, but would not be drawn into speculating whether they were related or not.

All Sadiki is hoping for now, is that someone finds her discarded qualifications and hands them in to the police.
