Bicycle worth a hundred thousand rands, stolen.

MIDRAND - Police have asked residents to be on the look out for a bicycle worth R100 000. A case of armed robbery was opened with the Midrand Police Station on 22 October.

The victim said at 6.20pm he was riding his bicycle, a black and orange imported machine on Old Pretoria Road, near Jukskei river.

“I had just past the Jukskei bridge onto a gravel road that runs parallel with Old Pretoria Road, about 400 meters up, when two males walked in the opposite direction towards Alexandra,” read the victim’s statement to the police.

He said, as he went past the two men, one of them grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him off his bicycle.

“I fell onto the ground and [the second one pulled a knife],” he said.

The perpetrator demanded he hand over his cellphone.

The criminals stole the bicycle and a Samsung S5 valued at R7 500.

Constable Nanty Belebesi, social crime prevention co-ordinator at the station said, “No arrests have been made yet. We are still busy with the investigation.”
