Children suffocate after being locked in a car
IVORY PARK - Two children died after they suffocated inside a parked vehicle at Ivory Park Ext 2. A third child is in hospital.

Rabie Ridge police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo said, “The grandmother of one of the children noticed the children had been playing for a long time and started calling for them and searching around the property.”
“To her dismay she found two children dead inside a car they were playing in. She rushed the child who was still breathing to the hospital and called the mother.”
Constable Nhlongo said people must make sure they know where their children are at all times and not leave vehicles, even old ones, open as children may get locked inside and die from the heat.
“It is a sad and unfortunate incident,” he said.
