The crime took place in August this year at McIntyre Street in Glenferness. Midrand Police spokesperson Constable Matome Tlamela said, “The suspect, and five others, robbed a house in Glenferness at gunpoint and assaulted the complainant and her two daughters with a walking stick.”
The complainant sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. Tlamela said, according to Detective Constable Joseph Khauli, the suspect returned to the same house with an accomplice trying to rob them again, but Midrand Police Constable Samuel Matamba and Constable Given Musekwa arrested the suspect at the scene of the crime.
During investigations, the suspect was positively linked to the attempted house robbery case and he confessed he did it with five friends.
Police are looking for the five suspects who are still at large.
