Space Age open day

MIDRAND - Space Age Independent School in President Park hosted an open family fun day for parents and visitors.

One of the school directors Jessica Singh said, “We also are open for 2015 admissions and hope to show interested parents around and give them a brief of the school.”

Each grade did a talent show, showcasing what they had learnt during the year. Another director at the school, Ram Naidoo said the school is at the heart of a community that has many challenges. “We chose to put the school in President Park and reduce the fees to accommodate pupils from homes where parents are unemployed.”

The pupils and visitors took a moment of silence for Mary Zimba, a Malawian Grade 3 pupil at the school who died a week ago.

Midrand Police Constable Nanty Belebesi was on hand to speak to pupils about safety and crime. Midrand Fire Station fire-fighters spoke to the pupils about fire safety and reporting emergency incidents. Rand Water and Standard Bank were also invited to speak to pupils and parents at the school.
