Joint preschool celebrations for Ivory Park

MIDRAND - Daycare Preschool group held a joint celebration for Ivory Park early child development centres (ECD).

Children from various preschools were given an opportunity to display their talents on stage and were handed certificates to mark their transition from creche to Grade 1.

The ceremony was held at Lord Khanyile community hall on 5 November, in Ivory Park.

The group saw it fit to combine the celebrations instead of having a small gathering for each school, said Frans Leso, chairman and founder of the group.

He said, “This is a special day for the kids, this is their last day at the ECD centres. We need to make it as comfortable as possible for them – Grade 1 is not scary.”

In keeping with the theme of growing up, the group called upon a longtime partner of theirs to come and issue the children with driver’s licenses.

Owner of Kids Traffic Land, Panayotis Constantinou said, “We make a [fairytale world] with the use of little road circuits and the children are also issued with little drivers’ licenses.

“We must not underestimate children, [they are capable of so much greatness given half a chance].”

The children were accompanied by their school principals, and teachers and parents were invited to share in the joy of the ceremony. They also enjoyed music, treats and edutainment organised for their benefit.
