Another criminal bites the dust

MIDRAND - Another successful conviction has happened, thanks to detective sergeant Aubrey Makgoshing.

His investigation of a case of business robbery and assault with the purpose to cause grievous bodily harm, has led to the conviction of two men,

The men were accused of conducting the robbery on Blombos Street in Noordwyk, on 11 October in 2012.

They police believe that they had two other accomplices.

On the night in question, the four are accused of having entered the business’ premises and dug a hole into a wall to retrieve a safe that had money in it. The police got a lead on the issue as it was occurring and the suspects were caught on the scene of the crime.

All four suspects were arrested and were later granted bail. However, the other two soon disappeared and did not honour their court appearances. They are still at large.

The two suspects who have had their day in court, were sentenced to 18 years and 16 years imprisonment.

The public is requested to inform the police of any leads that they might have with regards to the two suspects who have disappeared.
