Suspects arrested for stolen vehicle

IVORY PARK - Two suspects were arrested on 4 December in Ivory Park Extension 2 for possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

Ivory Park Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said officers were on duty patrolling the area when they received a tip-off on two male suspects who were selling a gold car at Bambanani Street, Ivory Park Extension 2.

Sekgobela said, “Police proceeded to the street where on arrival they found the suspects inside the stolen vehicle with no registration and license disc numbers. They asked the suspects to produce registration papers and disc numbers, but they did not have any.”

The suspects were arrested and taken to police holding cells. According to investigation officers, the car was hijacked at Lenasia earlier this week. The suspects will appear in Thembisa Magistrates’ Court soon.
