Guard tied up, left in boat

MIDRAND - Three men tied up a Python security guard and robbed the premises he was guarding on 15 January.

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said the 43-year-old man was on duty at a boat company on corner Lever Road and Vodacom Boulevard in Vorna Valley, when three men entered the business premises at about 12.05am.

The guard had left guardroom to patrol the premises when one of the men pointed a firearm at him and instructed him to take them to the offices. They took the panic button he was carrying and his two cellphones. They then tied his arms and legs with a boat net and put him in one of the boats.

She said the suspects then smashed the office windows and took computers. The list of items that was stolen is yet to be given to the Midrand police. Midrand police are still investigating the case.
