UPDATE: Domestic worker bail application is postponed, again

MIDRAND - The bail hearing of murder accused Deliwe Zwakala was postponed for the second time to 29 January.

The family of murdered Thohira Mitha was present at Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 20 January during the bail application of Zwakala who was Mitha’s domestic worker and is accused of being an accomplice in her murder. The 27-year-old Mitha was murdered in her home in Vorna Valley.

Chief prosecutor, Yusuf Baba said he planned to prove that Zwakala had admitted to playing a role in the murder of her employer. “Zwakala faces charges of murder in execution of a robbery, conspiracy to commit murder and robbery under aggravated circumstances,” said Baba.

Zwakala was represented by advocate Mavhavha Thwala. Thwala said he only received instructions to represent Zwakala two days prior to the bail hearing. He requested the postponent.
