Unidentified man dies after community attack

IVORY PARK - Police are investigating a murder case that took place at Ivory Park Ext. 2.

Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said police are looking for the relatives of an unknown man who passed away from upper body injuries at Tembisa Hospital on the 18 January.

She said, “The deceased was brought to the hospital by an ambulance on 30 November last year, after being assaulted by community members at Ivory Park Ext. 2.”

Police said they were told that paramedics first took the victim to Bophelong Clinic in Ivory Park Ext. 2 before he was moved to the hospital.

Sekgobela warned that any community members who take the law into their hands and fuel mob justice will be arrested.
