Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said a white Nissan 1 400 was recovered in Ivory Park on 4 February after a tip-off was received about the suspected stolen vehicle.
When police arrived where the vehicle was parked, they found a 40-year-old man inside. When asked who the owner of the vehicle was, he said he does not know,” said Sekgobela.
Police searched the vehicle and found the papers of the car, an ID of the person the car is registered to and contact details of the owner. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen.”
The suspect was immediately arrested. He will appear at Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon on a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
