At 7.20pm on 11 March, the woman was coming out of a shop on West Street when she was approached by three armed men.
According to the woman, she parked her vehicle to go in and buy bread and left her teenage daughter in the vehicle. As she was walking back to her car, she was approached by the three who pointed two firearms at her.
The suspects demanded her car keys. She didn’t react as she was in shock, she said. One of the men grabbed the car keys from her hand.
The men then went to the woman’s car, pulled her daughter out of the vehicle and drove off. They also took off with their cellphones, cash and shoes which were all in the car.
“The police are busy investigating a case of robbery with a firearm and are hoping to bring the suspects to book,” said Constable Matome Tlamela, head of communications at the Midrand police.
“The woman and her daughter were not physically hurt during the robbery.”
