Firearms and live ammunition recovered after tip-off

RABIE RIDGE - Two suspects were arrested for possession of two unlicensed firearms and live ammunition.

Rabie Ridge police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo said, “On 16 March, police arrested the suspects in Phomolong after a tip-off.”

Police went to the address searched the premises. The unlicensed firearms were recovered and the suspects were immediately arrested. The suspects, in their 30s, were detained at Rabie Ridge Police Station. Nhlongo added that police would like to thank members of the community whose tip-off led to the recovery of the firearms.

They will soon appear at Tembisa Magistrates’ Court for possession of unlicensed firearms and live ammunition.
