Neighbours catch thief

RABIE RIDGE - A thief was arrested after breaking into a house and stealing money in Kliepfontein on 16 March.

Rabie Ridge police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo said the suspect allegedly jumped over the perimeter wall of the house before breaking in and stole R1 600.

Nhlongo added, “The complainant was at home at the time. He heard noises, went to check and saw the suspect running away from his house. The complainant quickly notified neighbours who chased and caught the suspect. He has been detained at Rabie Ridge Police Station.”

The suspect will soon appear at Tembisa Magistrates’ Court on a charge of housebreaking and theft.
