Sector commander warns of increasing theft from motor vehicles

MIDRAND - Sector 2 Commander Mpho Mudau is appealing to residents to be more alert as theft out of motor vehicle crimes are on the rise.

Mudau said, “In Phomolong, Chloorkop and Klipfontein, we have had many reports of theft out of motor vehicles. We ask that people be more alert and careful where they park their vehicles.”

Mudau added that motorists should not leave valuables such as cellphones, laptops, iPads and bags in full view of criminals while cars are unattended. He emphasised that criminals are always lurking about and looking for an opportunity to commit a crime, even at stop signs and traffic lights. Residents must be alert and keep their car windows closed.

If you have information on criminals who are committing theft out of motor vehicle crimes in Sector 2, do not approach them, but immediately call Rabie Ridge police.
