Principal Eda Gonsalves explained, “Purple Day is the way we support Epilepsy Day on 26 March each year at Summerhill School.”
She said the pupils dress in the colour purple and their families can order delicious cupcakes, purple ribbons and angel necklaces among other things in order to celebrate the day.
“Families with an epileptic child can ask for help and the money raised is used to help selected cases,” said Gonsalves.
Also at the school, the spirit of Easter came alive as the pupils decorated bunny ears and went on a hunt for delicious chocolate eggs.
Principal Eda Gonsalves said, “We always invite the Easter Bunny to visit our nursery school!”
She said, as always, the Easter Bunny did not disappoint the pupils and hid many chocolate Easter eggs all over the school grounds, which the pupils sought eagerly and ate with much enjoyment as they celebrated the upcoming Easter holiday.
