According to Ivory Park police, a traditional healer allegedly asked for R400 000 from a client, so that the client could stop being sick, and become wealthy.
The man took a R160 000 loan from a bank to pay part of the R400 000 requested by a traditional healer.
Ivory Park police spokesperson Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said, “The complainant said on 1 April he paid part of the money. The next day, he received a call from an unknown person telling him that the traditional healer he had paid R160 000 deposit to had died.”
Police are investigating the matter. It is not known if the traditional healer really died or if he ran away with the money. Sekgobela also said residents must be alert and not become easy prey for fraudsters.
