A safety and abuse prevention show for Botshabelo children

MIDRAND - Kids R Special, an organisation that does safety puppet shows in schools, did a show at Botshabelo, a charity and educare centre.

Ann Parker one of the demonstrators of the safety show said, “We do these shows to give children tools to stay safe in every situation they may encounter at home or at school.”

Parker explained that the life skills they teach children give them information about not keeping silent if they are sexually, emotionally and physically abused. She stated that adults are also taught the same skills so that they reinforce the message of safety to children.

Amy Nicholson, the principal at Botshabelo, said the show is very important for children of all ages at the school. “The message of safety can never be said enough, we need children to know how to stay safe.”
