According to Rabie Ridge police spokesperson Constable Jacob Nhlongo, three suspects hijacked a white bakkie in Mayibuye. Police received a tip-off about the stolen vehicle’s whereabouts.
Nhlongo explained, “Police who were patrolling in Mayibuye spotted the bakkie on Modderfontein Road, with the same suspects in it. Police gave chase and the bakkie overturned on the corner of Mdaka Street and Modderfontein Road. Two suspects ran away when the bakkie overturned.”
The driver of the bakkie was arrested at the scene. Police are investigating the case and are looking for two suspects who are still on the run.
