Midrand police arrest three suspects, one is still at large

MIDRAND - Three suspects aged between 29 and 37 years of age were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition and a robbed vehicle at the corner of Old Pretoria Road and Church Street.

Midrand police spokesperson Constable Matome Tlamela said while police were patrolling on 16 April, they came across a White Opel Corsa and stopped it.

Tlamela explained, “The driver of the Corsa fled the scene on foot after realising that they were stopped by the police, but police managed to arrest three other suspects and recovered two unlicensed firearms, balaclavas and gloves.”

Police tested the suspects’ vehicle and it positively matched a robbed vehicle in a Boksburg case. The arrested suspects will soon appear at Alexandra Magistrates’ Court. Police are investigating the case to bring the suspect at large to book.
