Help find family of child left at police station

MIDRAND - Ivory Park police are looking for relatives of a little girl who identified herself as Lulama Bilankulu.

Ivory Park police spokesperson Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said, “It is alleged that on 27 July, the child was brought to the police station by a woman who told police officers that the mother of the child is her tenant, and she left the child with the tenant on 23 July and never returned.”

Sekgobela said that while police were still preparing documents to open an inquest docket, the woman who brought the girl to the station has disappeared. It is not known where the mother of the child is, or if something happened to her. Police are investigating the matter.

Police urge parents to look after their children and refrain from leaving them on their own for hours or days.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the child’s mother or relatives can contact the Ivory Park police.

Details: Ivory Park Police Station 011 990 9600.
