Stolen Bell excavator recovered abandoned in Midrand after Muldersdrift theft
Johannesburg Flying Squad members recovered a stolen Bell excavator in Midrand after receiving information that the construction machine had been stolen in Muldersdrift.
Police are investigating the theft of a Bell excavator that was allegedly stolen in Muldersdrift before being abandoned in Midrand.
According to Johannesburg Flying Squad media liaison officer Raymond Sambo, the vehicle was recovered on August 3 at about 3:30pm during a routine patrol.

“Joburg Flying Squad members were busy patrolling when they received information of a yellow Bell excavator that had been stolen in Muldersdrift,” said Sambo.
Police followed up on the information and proceeded to a property at the corner of Poplar Road in the Blue Hills plots, Midrand, where they found the excavator abandoned.

The machine was recovered and taken to the police pound for safekeeping while investigations continue.
On August 5, Sambo confirmed that no arrests have been made, and police are continuing their investigation to trace the suspects responsible for the theft.
