Changing the world for unemployed youth

MIDRAND - Change the World, a non-profit, IT Academy in Midrand is offering 39 free and limited scholarships to unemployed young people who are passionate about IT.

Youth from Tembisa, Olivenhoutbosch, Ebony and Ivory Park, Midrand and Alexandra are being invited by the academy to sign up for this great opportunity.

The academy’s head of donor relationships and marketing, Marlin Madondo said, “The scholarship is a way for anyone to increase their chances of getting employed. We have helped close to 65 percent of our students to find employment after receiving similar scholarships.”

He added that the goal of the scholarships is to give life-changing opportunities to youth who have a keen interest in IT.

A former student, Thapelo Molokwane said, “I had never used a computer before but now work as a receptionist, thanks to the free scholarship I received.”

Priority will be given to those who apply first and show a desire and ambition to learn IT.

“Top students will also get an opportunity to do internships at our other IT centers in Zandspruit and Diepsloot, while furthering their knowledge in this exciting industry,” said Madondo.
