Ivory Park police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said the crimes were committed on 18 November at a house in Clayville. She explained, “Crime Intelligence members received a tip-off about the murder. Police went to the house and found the owner already dead with multiple stabbed wounds on his upper body. The deceased’s vehicle and property were also stolen during the house robbery.”
Sekgobela said police received a tip-off about the whereabouts of two of the suspects, a man and a woman, in Tswelopele. Police searched the suspects’ house and found property of the deceased reported stolen in one of the rooms. The two suspects were arrested and told police that there is a third suspect and led police to him. They also told police where they took the victim’s car. The vehicle was recovered in an open veld near Kempton Park.
The suspects will soon appear in Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon facing charges of murder and house robbery as well as possession of suspected stolen goods.
