Fertiliser lands four men in jail

MIDRAND - A Noordwyk woman has laid a charge of trespassing against four men who put fertiliser on her lawn.

In a statement to Midrand police, the woman said she was not home when the Isuzu bakkie entered her home and put fertiliser on her lawn on 2 February.

When she returned home, she found her domestic worker, who had let the suspects into the yard, with the four men. The suspects then demanded she pay for their services. She refused and told them to get off her property, but they refused and still demanded payment.

“The woman said she did not ask for any of the fertiliser, therefore, she refused to pay them. By refusing to leave her property, the men performed a criminal act,” said Constable Matome Tlamela, head of communications at Midrand Police Station.

The woman called the police and the four men were arrested for trespassing. “They will appear in Midrand Magistrates’ Court on trespassing charges,” said Tlamela.
