The Democratic Alliance’s (DA) mayoral candidate for Johannesburg, Herman Mashaba, weighed in on the video made public of Metro police officers in a disagreement with a motorist in Waterfall.
In a statement, Mashaba said this showed how essential it was for a full clean-up of the Metro police.
“My colleague and DA Shadow MMC for Safety, Michael Sun has lodged a complaint with the Joburg director for Internal Investigations at Metro police and requested him to investigate this incident immediately, and to take the necessary disciplinary steps,” Mashaba said.
Mashaba said this would be a test for the City of Johannesburg with so much evidence of the alleged assault already in the public domain.
