Police are investigating a tragic incident where a young boy’s private parts were cut off by three men in Ivory Park on 10 April.
Gauteng police’s provincial spokesperson, Lieutenant Kay Makhubela said it is not known why the men cut off the 12-year-old’s private parts.
“The victim told police that three suspects saw him on the street and called him over to speak to him. They then asked the boy to go and call an unknown woman for them and promised to pay him. When the victim returned, he told the suspects that he did not find the woman they were looking for,” he said.
Makhubela explained that the victim alleged that the men quickly grabbed him and took him to a bridge nearby, took off his clothes and cut off his private parts.
Two suspects have been arrested and one is still on the run. A case of attempted murder has been opened.
Tembisa Hospital spokesperson, Lesibana Ledwaba confirmed that the victim was treated at the hospital. Ledwaba added, “The patient has now been moved to another hospital for further treatment.”
Police are investigating the matter and are on the hunt for the third suspect.
