Carlswald Montessori, a combined preschool and primary school in Midrand, recently held a beanie drive to support the Round Table Sandton 121’s Winter Knights Charity Drive.
A total of 143 beanies were collected by parents and will be distributed to people in need from the Round Table Charity Group.
Round Table Sandton 121 is a social networking and charitable organisation for men in their 20s, 30s and early 40s. Membership of the Round Table provides a selection of social and community service-related opportunities for its members who come from all parts of the community. It is frequently associated with its charitable fundraising activities and community service projects.
The beanie collection was combined with the school’s Solstice Pajama Day.
Janinne Morrison of Carlswald Montessori said, “Solstice is either of the two times in the year, the summer solstice and the winter solstice, when the sun reaches its highest or lowest point in the sky at noon, marked by the longest and shortest days. This year it was on 21 June. On this day the pupils and teachers wore pajamas.”
