Two men shot dead by unknown suspects

MIDRAND – Business robbery suspects kill two men sleeping in a shop.

 

Two men in Ivory Park Ext 6 were shot and killed in the early hours of 15 July allegedly by three men.

Ivory Park Police Station’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said police were called to a business robbery and murder scene on Mabuza Street in Ivory Park where it is alleged that the victims were shot inside the shop where they were sleeping as they lived on the property.

It was not clear if the victims were sleeping in the shop as a security measure.

Sekgobela added, “On arrival, the landlord of the property told police that she heard a noise outside and opened the window to check. She allegedly saw three men breaking the door with an axe. Later she heard three gunshots.”

Police found five cartridges at the scene and two victims lying in a pool of blood. “The victims had gunshot wounds, one was shot in the upper part of his body. Both victims were certified dead on the scene. The victims were later identified as foreign nationals, aged 19 and 20.”

Police are investigating a business robbery and murder case.
