Head of gymnastics at the school, Masego Mashiane said they are proud of the seven-member team’s performance at the national competition and will begin preparations for the next tournament as soon as the next academic year commences.

“Gymnastics is an all-year sport at our school and depending on demand, it might be open to the public,” she said.
Four of the seven participants from Midrand Primary obtained gold medals at the final that was held on 29 October in Randburg. Boitshoko Manaiwa, Chantelle Mnisi, Bokamoso Rantso and Bokamoso Maimela came in first position, winning gold medals, while Masego Mohlala and Mukhethwa Bodeli came in fourth position. Katlego Makosonke came in fifth position.
“The girls looked so pretty and their confidence was immediately boosted. The one boy obviously couldn’t wait to claim his gold medal and leave the girls to their girly ways. They all performed beautifully and scored beautiful marks,” said an excited Mashiane.
