5-vehicle pile-up on N1 south in Midrand

MIDRAND – A five vehicle collision near the Allandale road off-ramp in Midrand resulted in numerous injuries. .

 

Traffic was affected for a while on the N1 south near the Allandale Road off-ramp in Midrand on the morning of 11 December, due to a five-vehicle pile-up

Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside paramedics from other emergency services at the scene to attend to the five injured people.

Mathe said one person was trapped in one of the vehicles for at least an hour until emergency officials extricated the man.

“Once freed, the man was stabilised alongside four others before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care,” conlcluded Mathe.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.
