Disability Month celebration
MIDRAND – Cresset House, a residential and work facility for adults with intellectual disabilities recently celebrated Disability Month.
Cresset House, a residential and work facility for adults with intellectual disabilities celebrated Disability Month (3 November to 3 December) by holding a fête which was sponsored by the Midrand Christen Gemeente.
This event was fun for the residents of Cresset, but at the same time allowed the organisation to continue their mission of breaking down misconceptions about people with disabilities.

Merilyn Pick, CEO of the residential and work facilities for adults with intellectual disabilities at the organisation, said Cresset also held a graduation for their 2016 group of women who were trained in organic farming.
It was a three-month course which was sponsored by Lotto and was expected to help these unemployed women to start their own businesses, added Pick.
“We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to Midrand Christen Gemeente and Lotto for their continuous support and partnering with the organisation in creating a wonderful and fun opportunity for the villagers [residents].”
