Schoolgirl’s troubling story

MIDRAND – Midrand schoolgirl's leg is stuck between the gaps of a cement drain.

 

Netcare911 paramedics responded to an incident on 23 January where a young girl’s leg was stuck in between the slats of a cement drain at a school in Midrand.

Athlenda Mathe from Netcare911 said, “It was a traumatic experience for the little girl, but having pulled out all our resources to the scene, our paramedics made sure that she was calm and in safe hands.”

Netcare911 sent two response vehicles, an ambulance and their Rescue 1 vehicle.

The girl was eventually freed after an hour, much to the relief of her parents and the team that worked tirelessly to free her.

The girl was assessed by paramedics who ensured that she did not require any further medical treatment.
