Ivory Park police clarify reports after woman’s body found in Clayville river
Police have responded to reports following the discovery of a woman's body near the Mall of Tembisa amid wider safety concerns in Ekurhuleni.
Ivory Park Police Station has clarified reports that a woman in her 20s was found in a river near the Mall of Tembisa, Clayville, on September 7.
The discovery was cited in media reports as the seventh body found amid public concern over a series of deaths across Ekurhuleni. However, Ivory Park SAPS station commander Brigadier David Ngcobo confirmed no murder was reported at the station on September 7, since the area falls under Tembisa South Police Station.

Ngcobo said the only murder reported to Ivory Park Police Station in that period occurred on September 6 at Tswelopele.
SAPS has urged women to exercise caution as investigations into the various cases continue.
Sergeant Maxwell Mabunda, of Ekuhurleni District Office, stated that they cannot provide any more information further on this matter and stressed that all the cases are under investigation.
