The school’s sports administrator, Masego Mashiane, said the selected pupils would represent the school ably at the games and progress to the provincial level. “The children danced, cheered, ran and jumped [excitedly]. We all had so much fun. One of the highlights of the day was the teacher’s race, both male and female. I will not mention the winners of that race, but just know they are from the school’s sports department,” Mashiane joked.

The Pumas came out victorious and will represent their school at Halfway House. The school has scheduled training days for children who take part in the inter-schools competition. “As I have said before, we would like to dominate in the athletics codes that we haven’t been dominating in the past. This obviously means that we have to train harder than before. We wish the school’s team all the best. They have our support,” Mashiane concluded.
