Midrand Police Station operations commander, Captain Lionel Chetty, said his team had a successful operation on 27 January in sectors 2 and 5, where 17 sex workers were arrested and 12 arrests were made for drunk driving and three for drugs.

This followed another operation in sectors 2 and 3 on 26 January, in conjunction with Griffon Security, Axon and the Community Policing Forum, when two arrests were made, one for possession of dagga and the other for rock cocaine.
Tlamela said an operation on 28 January had led to six arrests for drugs, one for possession of stolen property, and one for illegal gambling.
