Midrand Primary School scooped eight medals in the district athletics games held at Germiston Stadium on 18 February.
Seven athletes out of the 22 who went to represent the school at the games won medals after competing against other athletes from various schools in the district.
Of the eight medals, one was bronze, four were silver and three were gold. The seven winners will now compete at provincial level.
To attend the district athletics games, athletes from Midrand Primary School competed against 14 other schools in the inter-schools competition at Halfway House Primary School on 10 February.
The sports administrator at the school, Masego Mashiane, congratulated all the athletes who made it to district level and encouraged those who did not make it, to work harder next year.
“The school is very proud of all the children that went to represent us at district level, they did very well. Good luck to those who made it to provincial level, keep training hard,” she said.
