A Kempton Park man was granted R10 000 bail in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court for the alleged burglary and theft of parts from a Volvo motor vehicle parked at a storage facility in Midrand.
The suspect was arrested with the help of the facility’s owner, who recalled him visiting the facility in October last year, allegedly asking to buy the same parts. The suspect will reappear in court after further investigations are completed.
The suspect allegedly entered the facility between 15 December last year and 4 January this year, when the owner was away, and allegedly stripped and stole the vehicle’s gear and computer boxes, a door, tyres, radiator and other parts, all valued at R120 000. Police, with the victim, traced the suspect to his Kempton Park home where some of the parts were allegedly found in a workshop, leading to his arrest.
