Children’s home calls for help
MIDRAND – Company gives back to children's home which requires more assistance.
The New Jerusalem Children’s Home in Midrand is calling for assistance with building material to complete the construction of the boys’ residential unit, expected to be complete in March, this year.
The home cares for orphaned, abandoned, abused, traumatised, vulnerable and HIV positive children.
It received roof trusses from MiTek South Africa on 17 February to assist with the construction of the boys’ unit. However, the home still requires other building material in order to complete the long-awaited structure.
“We are mindful of the current economic condition around the world and we do understand that it might not be easy for corporate communities to put this complete estimated amount on the table. New Jerusalem Children’s Home, therefore, is requesting all community members, individual, organisations and corporate communities to join hands and donate however much towards the building material of this much-needed structure,” said marketing manager for the home Raymond Madibogo.
MiTek South Africa has been supporting the home for more than 10 years. Last year, the international leaders of the company visited the home. During their visit, they saw a need to support towards the boys residential unit, committing to sponsor the organisation with the roof trusses. The residential unit will provide the boys with an environment which will allow them privacy, adequate shelter and improve their psychological development while restoring their esteem as they grow to be better social role players.
CEO of the home, Anna Mojapelo said the delivery of the roof structure is one of the biggest achievements for the home and it will ensure that they meet their long overdue completion of the boys residential unit. “Our boys will be well sheltered. I am filled with joy, smiles and commendation.
“Seeing our boys looking at the delivery of the trusses from the corner of the building, has further indicated how much this structure means to them. I wonder what their overnight conversations have been? I am sure it was all about their new roof,” she concluded.
