Police recover Midrand stolen vehicle during Westville raid
A syndicate investigation is underway after officers seized two luxury vehicles and fraudulent documents at a KwaZulu-Natal property.
Police have recovered a vehicle linked to a theft case reported at Midrand Police Station last year following the arrest of a 28-year-old suspect in Westville, KwaZulu-Natal.
The suspect was arrested at a Westville property on September 10 after the Border Policing Reaction Team, working with detectives attached to King Shaka International Airport, followed up on information linked to the theft of a motor vehicle at the airport several days earlier.

Police seized a Toyota and a BMW during the operation after information led investigators to the address.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk said one of the recovered vehicles was positively linked to a motor vehicle theft case reported at Midrand Police Station in 2025.
“Further investigations revealed that fraudulent documentation was presented to a motor vehicle dealership to purchase the vehicle,” said Van Wyk.
Van Wyk said investigators were working to establish whether the suspect could be linked to a larger car theft syndicate, adding that investigations remain ongoing.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court soon.
