MIDRAND – Four men were arrested for allegedly stealing paving bricks in Ivory Park.

Ivory Park police officers arrested four people on 24 July for allegedly stealing paving bricks following a tip-off from community members.

The suspects, aged between 20 and 63, were allegedly seen pushing rubbish bins and wheelbarrows filled with pavement bricks in Ivory Park Ext 3.

Station Commander of Ivory Park Police Station, Brigadier David Ngcobo thanked the community for heeding the police’s call of being the ears and eyes for the police and for reporting the crime.

The spokesperson for the station, Captain Bernard Matimulane said this arrest should serve as a lesson to anyone who plans on taking things that do not belong to them.

The suspects are expected to appear in Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon to face charges of theft.
